USDA Choice & Prime

USDA Prime and USDA Choice are the top two grades on the USDA's beef grading scale, both determined by marbling; the flecks of intramuscular fat that run through the meat and melt while cooking for added juiciness and flavor. USDA Prime sits at the top, with the highest amount of marbling of any USDA grade; only about 8 to 10% of all U.S. beef qualifies. USDA Choice falls just below Prime, with slightly less marbling but excellent quality and outstanding value. Every Double R Ranch cut is hand-selected to meet one of these two top grades.

Double R Ranch cattle are grass-fed and grain-finished, raised by a network of family ranchers across the Pacific Northwest. The mild climate and abundant resources are ideal for raising cattle. Locally sourced feed includes wheat, corn, barley, potatoes and hay. Our ranchers utilize the best humane care practices to ensure animal health and productivity. All together this thoughtful care and feeding helps deliver consistent quality in every cut.

Double R Ranch beef is available directly from Snake River Farms, where you'll find the full selection of cuts, the freshest product, and exclusive online offers. Double R Ranch beef is also carried by select retail partners, but ordering direct means your beef is vacuum-sealed and shipped straight to your door at peak freshness.

All Double R Ranch products are aged and frozen at peak freshness, then individually vacuum-sealed to lock in quality. Orders ship with dry ice in an insulated thermal bag, so your order arrives frozen or partially frozen.

For best quality and flavor, we recommend enjoying frozen Double R Ranch USDA Choice and Prime beef within 6 months. Once thawed, refrigerate and use within 5 to 7 days.
