Ingredients
-
1 to 2 packs of American Wagyu hot dogs
-
1 cup yellow mustard
-
1 cup BBQ rub (any all-purpose rub works)
-
2 cups BBQ sauce (we prefer Slaps BBQ Slaps sauce)
-
1 pack of hot dog buns, if desired
Directions
Start by setting your smoker to 250°F. We used a gravity feed charcoal smoker for this recipe.
While the smoker is heating up, take the hotdogs out of the package and place in a pan. Cover the hot dogs with yellow mustard and then BBQ rub. The rub should completely cover the entire hot dog.
Once smoker is up to temp, place hot dogs on the smoker and let cook for 1 hour. Make sure you don’t open the smoker.
After 1 hour take the dogs off the smoker. Increase the smoker temp to 400 to 500°F. While the smoker is heating up cut into 1 to 1.5 inch pieces. Place pieces into an oven safe and cover with BBQ sauce make sure all pieces get covered. Return the cut hotdogs to the smoker and let the sauce set for 30 minutes or until the sauce is tacky on the cut pieces.
Remove from smoker and let rest/cool for 10 minutes and enjoy!
