Thaw the Right Way

Slow and steady wins the holiday ham race. Allow three to four days to thaw a whole Kurobuta ham in the refrigerator. Once thawed, your ham stays perfectly fresh for up to a week. Planning ahead ensures a stress-free centerpiece. > Shop Kurobuta Hams

Pro Tip: For detailed instructions on thawing, scoring, glazing, and reheating your ham, check out our Guide: How to Cook a Ham.

Gluten-Free and Great

Our Kurobuta hams do not contain gluten, but it's a common question. Our hams only contain rich Kurobuta pork, cured with just the right amount of seasoning. The final touch of flavor is smoking each ham over real hardwood. > Shop Kurobuta Ham.

Glaze Your Way to a Perfect Ham

Give your ham a show-stopping finish with a simple, fast glaze that balances sweet, tart, and spice.

For step-by-step instructions on preparing, glazing, and reheating your ham, check out our Guide: How to Cook a Ham.

An Easy way to Glaze

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup orange juice
  • 4 tablespoons Dijon mustard

Optional

  • 1 teaspoon orange zest
  • 1/8 teaspoon spice, such as cinnamon, cloves, or baking spice mix

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F.
  2. Heat all glaze ingredients in a saucepan over medium until the sugar dissolves and the glaze thickens (about 15 minutes).
  3. To glaze, start with a fully thawed ham.
  4. An optional step is to score the ham (in other words, cut lines in it). This traps the glaze and creates a classical appearance.
  5. To score, make cuts in the ham about 1/4" deep in lines about 1" apart.
  6. Score in one direction, then cut diagonally across the cuts to form diamond shapes.
  7. Set the ham, fat side up, in a roasting pan. If you're using a half ham, place the flat side down. Bake until the internal temperature reaches 130°F.
  8. Remove Ham from the oven and let rest.
