What to Make with Leftover Brisket
1. Brisket Tacos
Americans love tacos. Over 4.5 billion tacos are consumed across the country every year. Some of the best tacos are made with leftover brisket. They are incredibly simple, yet extravagant, because of the rich flavor that only brisket can provide.
Brisket tacos are very simple to make. First, chop up the leftover brisket into smaller pieces. Next, reheat the brisket in a large skillet until it’s warm through. Then, heat the tortillas until they are soft, scoop on the brisket and top with salsa, guacamole, cilantro, onions, or your favorite taco fixings.

Chili might be the ultimate comfort food. There’s something about coming home to a hot and hearty meal, and brisket chili is the superior choice on a chilly fall day. The thing with chili is you can make it exactly to your preference. Slow cook it for hours or go with a fast and easy method. The choices are many – make it spicy or mild, with beans or bean-less, side it with corn bread or biscuits. Grab your favorite chili recipe and add brisket in place of the usual beef. The most important aspect of chili is giving it ample time in the slow cooker to make sure all the flavors blend seamlessly.

3. Leftover Brisket Sandwich
A brisket sandwich is always a fool proof idea that is easy to customize to your personal taste. We like to keep it simple and allow the brisket, that you spent hours preparing, to be the highlight. Match the flavor of your brisket with high quality ingredients. Now is not the time to cut corners with stale bread. Buy fresh-baked hoagie rolls, sweet onions, red or green peppers, and your favorite melty cheese, like aged cheddar or provolone. Cook the onions and peppers in a hot skillet with the brisket. Scoop it onto the hoagie roll with the cheese and enjoy!

How to Heat Up Leftover Brisket
Reheating leftover brisket can be accomplished in several different ways, though some methods deliver better results.
-
Microwave: The microwave will be the fastest and easiest method but can cause the brisket to dry out. We only recommend using it in a pinch. If you’re going to reheat brisket in the microwave, consider lowering the microwave’s power setting and only cook the brisket roughly 30 seconds at a time.
-
Oven: The oven method will produce great results, is easy to do, and takes just a little more time. Heat the oven to 300°F to 325°F and place your leftover brisket on a baking sheet. Cover the leftovers with aluminum foil and bake for about 20 to 30 minutes or until warm.
- Sous Vide: The sous vide method will take the longest but will produce top tier results. Seal the leftover brisket in a heat-resistant bag, set the immersion circulator to 165°F and let warm for about an hour. If sous vide is not an option, we recommend using the oven.
Pro Tip: We recommend using leftover brisket in less than a week.
