"The secret to cooking these is to reverse sear. I was struggling with these by following the directions and throwing thick frozen patties on the grill. The outsides would cook long before the inside. They also make a ton of greasy steam so do not try to cook a frozen patty indoors. What you need to do is bake them at 250 until probe reaches 130, then throw on on the grill or flat iron (400 degrees) for a quick sear. Foolproof method if you have about 45 minutes.
