Cooking Tips

Recognized as one of the finest white fish in the world, Alaskan halibut is the first choice of fish loving fanatics. Our halibut is wild caught from the pristine waters throughout the state of Alaska. Each fish is processed and flash frozen at its optimal freshness to ensure a quality eating experience.

Wild halibut has firm, white flesh and a mild, yet rich, flavor. This delicious pacific halibut possesses a meaty texture and refined flavor. Each 5-ounce portion has the bones and skin removed and is ready to thaw and prepare. The firm texture holds up beautifully to all cooking methods from poaching to deep frying.

Average weight: 10 oz. Each package contains (2) 5 oz. filets.

This meaty, firm fish is mild in flavor, making it suitable for any whitefish recipe.

Lightly sweet and flaky, it’s great for roasting, grilling, baking and more.

Halibut can hold onto moisture after defrosting. Avoid squeezing. Gently pat your filets with a clean paper towel.

Don't overcook. Halibut may dry out fast when cooking because of its low oil content.

Wild, Not Farmed

Our seafood is caught in the wild from closely monitored fisheries located in the US. Wild caught is superior to farm raised seafood in terms of quality, but also limits overfishing, pollution and human rights violations. Small, family-owned operations use sustainable methods, such as hook and line or shallow nets, to responsibly catch our seafood and flash freeze it at its peak freshness. Our seafood is traceable and includes a label that shows the specific landing location and the catch method used.

Frequently Asked Questions

How to cook halibut

Ensure the halibut is thawed before cooking. Heat a pan or skillet on a stovetop with a thin layer of oil or butter over medium-high heat. Place the halibut in the pan and cook for 3 to 4 minutes or so without moving the fish. If the halibut sticks to the skillet, it’s not ready to turn. Wait until it releases on its own. When the fish releases, flip and cook until the internal temperature of the fish reaches 140°F.
