Cooking Tips

Atlantic sea scallops are delicious with a mild, briny flavor and smooth, tender bite. These premium quality sea scallops are ideal for an appetizer or main course, especially when paired with an American Wagyu steak. We only source dry scallops, not treated with preservatives or chemicals. The creamy, translucent flesh has a natural sweetness and cooks quickly on the grill or skillet.

Our scallops are harvested in the fisheries of New Bedford, one of the oldest fishing ports in the US and the setting for the classic novel, Moby Dick. All our scallops are certified sustainable and can be traced to their specific landing area by the sticker on each eco-friendly package. Wild caught, hand-shucked and flash frozen at their optimal freshness, these Atlantic sea scallops add a touch of the ocean to every meal.

Average weight: 12 oz. Each package contains 8 scallops.

Atlantic sea scallops are succulent, sweet with a tender texture. They are easy to prepare or use in your favorite recipe.

For a perfect sear:

Thaw your scallops completely.

Drain extra liquid, then pat the scallops dry with a paper towel.

Season both sides with plenty of salt to draw out excess moisture.

Heat a skillet over high heat and add a good dollop of of neutral vegetable oil.

Add the scallops, flat side down and allow to sear. Don’t move them around.

Allow to sear for about 3 to 4 minutes until a golden crust has formed. Flip and sear the other side.

Wild, Not Farmed

Our seafood is caught in the wild from closely monitored fisheries located in the US. Wild caught is superior to farm raised seafood in terms of quality, but also limits overfishing, pollution and human rights violations. Small, family-owned operations use sustainable methods, such as hook and line or shallow nets, to responsibly catch our seafood and flash freeze it at its peak freshness. Our seafood is traceable and includes a label that shows the specific landing location and the catch method used.

Frequently Asked Questions

How to prepare scallops

A fast and delicious way to prepare sea scallops is to sear them in a pan. Be sure to pat the scallops to remove excess moisture. This will help achieve a nice, crisp sear.

Heat 2 teaspoons of vegetable oil and 2 teaspoons of butter in a skillet over medium-high heat.

Place scallops in the hot pan and sear for 1 ½ to 2 minutes or until an even brown crust forms.

Flip them over and sear the other side for another 1 ½ to 2 minutes.

Remove from the pan and lightly season with salt.

Top with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice and serve.
