Everything you love about a cheeseburger, wrapped up and fried until golden and crispy. These Wagyu cheeseburger egg rolls start with SRF Gourmet Hamburger seared until caramelized, then get rolled with sweet caramelized onions, American cheese and shredded lettuce. A quick fry in beef tallow gives them a shatteringly crisp shell, and a homemade burger sauce with a hint of sriracha brings it all together. Perfect for game day, parties or any time you want a handheld twist on a classic.

blank

  • ½ cup mayonnaise

  • 2 tablespoon cup ketchup

  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard

  • 1 tablespoon relish or minced pickles

  • 1 tablespoon of the caramelized onions

  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar or pickle juice

  • 1 teaspoon sriracha (optional if you like spice)

  • Pinch of salt and pepper

Directions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add butter. Once melted, add diced onions and a good pinch of salt and pepper. Cook for 3 minutes. Add brown sugar and Worcestershire sauce. Incorporate it well then lower the heat to low. Cook for 15 to 20 minutes mixing every few minutes until the onions have caramelized. Remove and add it to a bowl.

  2. In the same pan, bring the temperature up to a medium high heat. Add the ground beef in chunks spreading it out evenly. Add a good pinch of salt and pepper. Very important, don’t mix the meat yet, let it build a crust and caramelize for a few minutes. Break the meat up and finish cooking it until browned then remove from the pan.

  3. Add beef tallow or cooking oil to a pot or a cast iron skillet. Allow the temperature to come up to 325 to 350° degrees.

  4. While that warms up, lay down one sheet of the egg roll wrappers. Place 1 slice of American cheese down in the middle followed by roughly 1 tablespoon of onions, 2 tablespoon of beef, and a little lettuce. Wet the edges of the wrapper with water. Begin folding inwards and roll tight until it's tightly sealed. Repeat this process until all of the egg rolls are filled.

  5. Add one egg roll to the cooking oil at a time, I would do 2 or 3 at a time in small batches. If you add too many the temperature will drop and you won’t get a crispy exterior.

  6. Cook for about 2 minutes constantly moving them around so they evenly fry. Remove once they are golden brown and place onto a plate with a paper towel.

  7. Add all of the burger sauce ingredients to a bowl. Don’t forget to add 1 tablespoon of the caramelized onions. This adds the sweetness and depth of flavor. Mix well.

  8. Serve them on a plate for your friends and enjoy!
